Welcome to the Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club

Who are we?

Bayswater Bullets are one of eleven clubs within the Knox Little Athletics Centre in the City of Knox, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Established in 1968, this coming Summer Track & Field season will be our 43rd season of competition.

Little Athletics recognises that children vary widely in shape, size and athletic ability, and is thus one of few sports that successfully caters for them all. The Little Athletics motto is "Family, Fun and Fitness". It is also the most affordable junior sport as well!

We are always welcoming new athletes to come down and join us. No previous athletic ability or experience is necessary.

The emphasis is on having fun and each athlete to achieve their own personal best time or distance for each event they compete in.  For further information, please click on  the "buttons" to the left or click  "links" in blue just below.

Vale Ron Papst

1980's 2008

Some sad news with Bayswater Bullets Life Member Ron Papst passing away late last week. Ron is the father of our Team Manager Sharyn Maggs and has been a familiar face around the Knox Centre over the past four or five years who, along with his wife Heather, attend to watch their grand children compete -  U12 Adam and U9 Troy..

Ron's first involvement in Little Athletics was with Bayswater from the 1972/73 season at Chandler Park. He was on the Bayswater Committee from 1973/74 to 1982/83. Four as Secretary and one season as Club President. His wife Heather was also on the Committee for many years including Assistant Team Manager.

Ron, along with John Guerra,  were awarded Bayswater's first club Life Memberships back in 1984.

At the Knox Centre level, Ron was the Centre Registrar from 1974/75 to 1976/77, then as Treasurer 1977/78 through to 1981/82. Ron was also a Knox delegate at EMR Region from 1979/80 to 1982/63.

Ron was honoured with Knox Centre Life Membership in 1981.

Ron is a well known face around Bayswater with involvement with many other Sporting and Community Groups over the years.

Our sincere condolences to Heather, Sharyn and to their extended family.
